Recipes for Slushy Mixes

Enjoy HOT, COLD, or as a SLUSHY made with ice.

By one cup – 8 oz. - Add 1-1/3 tblsp of mix per 8 oz. of hot or cold water, can add more depending on taste.

To make flavored ice cubes: 3 cups water and 4 tblsp mix. Mix completely and fill approximately 2 ice cube trays. Use these in place of regular ice cubes. Add 1 cup of ice cubes and 3/4 cup of wine, pop (7up, sprite, ginger ale, etc.), or juice (cranberry, pomegranate, apple or grape) in mix.

Slushy Drink: Single serving for wine slushy - 1 cup ice, 3/4 cup wine, and 2-2/3 tblsp mix. Put in Blender. May add more mix if needed according to taste. If you prefer, substitute wine for water, pop (7-up, sprite, ginger ale, etc.) Chocolate slushy: use chocolate wine or chocolate milk.

Freezer Option: Add 4 tblsps of the slushy mix, more or less depending on taste, with a bottle of wine. May use alcohol-free wine, ginger ale, or juice (cranberry, pomegranate, apple or grape). Combine until mix is dissolved and place in freezer until slushy consistency or frozen. If frozen, thaw until you are able to scoop into glass.

Smoothies: Add 1-1/2 tblsps of mix to your 8 oz cup along with fruit, yogurt, milk, or ice cream. Place in blender until desired consistency.

Slushy Pie: Mix 8 oz cream cheese and 8 oz cool whip until smooth. Add 4 to 4-1/2 tblsps of slushy mix, more or less depending on taste. Mix and spread in graham cracker crust. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Examples: Chocolate – Peanut Butter Pie: Mix the 8oz cream cheese and 8 oz cool whip until smooth. Then add 4 tblsps of chocolate slushy mix. Then add 3 tblsps of powdered peanut butter mix. Mix and spread in graham cracker crust. Sprinkle crushed graham crakers, chocolate, sprinkles, or cocoa on top and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or freeze.

Strawberry Slushy Pie: Mix 2 – 7.5 oz strawberry cream cheese and 8 oz cool whip until smooth. Add 3 tblsps of strawberry and mix until smooth. Mash thawed or fresh strawberries and add to pie mixture. Pour into graham cracker crust. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or freeze. This will be really thick; use only 1 strawberry cream cheese and 4 tblsps of slushy mix if you do not like it so thick.

Note: These recipes have worked well for us. You may want to add more or add less slushy mix to each recipe.
